COMPANY: TransMedics

TransMedics is an end-to-end organ transplant company that keeps the organs (heart, lung, or liver) alive outside the body, without the need for cold storage. This means the organs is more likely to be viable when it reaches its destination, and can travel a longer distance as well. TransMedics provides logistics and transportation as well as the OCS (Organ Care System). I started at TransMedics amidst a brand refresh, and carried the torch from another designer who had begun exploring new brand identities for the company. Keeping the existing logo, the team and I developed a design system using an enhanced color palette, subtle gradients, and cropped rounded hexagon shapes to refresh the brand look and feel. Today, I am the Creative Brand Manager for TransMedics and continue to elevate the brand identity by creating dynamic visuals and maintaining the integrity of the brand.

PROBLEM: Assets exist in multiple places, version control is unmanageable, employees constantly reaching out to Creative Brand Manager for asset requests. Brand guide is a PDF that rarely gets circulated.

SOLUTION: Digital Asset Management Platform with custom landing page and separate link for Brand Guidelines.

One of my initiatives at TransMedics was to source a Digital Asset Management Platform for the company. After researching and exploring multiple options, I landed on Bynder, a perfect fit for us. This continues to be a valued resource in the company for a single source of truth portal for all digital assets, as well as a way to send large files to third party vendors and media outlets. My favorite part is the Brand Guide feature, which is broken down into sections so users can easily find our fonts, logo restrictions, color palettes, and more.

In addition to print and digital branding, I was also responsible for the wayfinding system in our renovated office space. This included oversight and management of all signage, design for window decals, wall installations, and any other miscellaneous requests. The result is a clean, cohesive atmosphere for employees and visitors to enjoy as they move through the space.
